Chinese, Uzbek scientists team up to revive Aral Sea region

Once one of the world's worst environmental disasters, Aral Sea region is seeing signs of renewal.

Scientists in Uzbekistan are working with Chinese partners to cultivate salt-tolerant plants that can survive in the harsh, salt-covered soil left behind by the shrinking lake.

Their goal: restore ecosystems, reduce dust storms, and bring life back to degraded land.
