Jackson memorial to go on as custody battle cools
Tajikistan News.Net Thursday 2nd July, 2009
It has been suggested that Michael Jackson's memorial service might be held at the Staples Centre in downtown Los Angeles, if Jackson's family approves of the venue.
Michael Jackson's promoters have said they have been discussing arrangements with city officials, who would need to deal with crowds of tens of thousands of people.
Tickets will be issued for the memorial, even though it will be free.
Meanwhile, Deborah Rowe, the ex-wife of Michael Jackson and the mother of two of his children, has still not decided whether to seek custody.
Rowe’s lawyer said a decision would be only be made available through "the public forum of the court."
Earlier on Thursday, the Superior Court in Los Angeles rescheduled a guardianship hearing for July 13th at the request of Rowe and Katherine Jackson, who has temporary guardianship of her grandchildren.
It was earlier reported by Los Angeles television that Rowe would seek custody of Jackson's two oldest children and also seek a restraining order to keep Jackson's father Joe away from them.
In his will, Michael Jackson named neither his father nor Rowe as beneficiaries. Email this story to a friend
