Old Jewish money hard to retrieve from pre-war banks

ABC Radio has reported that a group in Israel is fighting for money which was put into Jewish banks before the Holocaust.
While European banks in recent years have paid millions of dollars to the families of Holocaust victims whose assets were still in the bank vaults after the war, restitution from Israeli banks has not been forthcoming.
Because thousands of European Jews opened accounts in the Holy Land before the war, the Israeli group is on a worldwide search for the rightful heirs.
Much of the Jewish money was placed in the Anglo Palestine Bank in what is now Israel.
After the war the Anglo Palestine and other banks still held the deposits of Jews who had died in the Holocaust.
But Leumi Bank, which took over from Anglo Palestine, has refused to recognise the old accounts.
Leumi Bank says it gave most of the money in the accounts to British authorities after the war, and at most would only be liable for accrued interest.
It has now agreed to enter an arbitration process to resolve claims by relatives.  Email this story to a friend

I agree with notsosunny/It seems that thetypes like Sunnyday never miss spreading their antisemitic hate/ That is why it is necessary to counter their venom . Yeseterday it was the Jews, and tomorrow it may well be the muslims . Ionically muslims who often deny the Holocaust, now seem to be concerned that it will happen to them in the future ( see news reports from the United Kingdom).

Interesting, the Zionists collect the billio9ns in reparations $ from the EU 'hollocust rag-dolls' and send it to the AIPAC rats in Hymie town NYC to 'hotwire' as many more policicians as possible; thereby, creating more Hollo-dollars for themselves. It’s a vicious circle, huh mates?
