SAN FERNANDO CITY, Jan. 17 (PIA) -- The province of La Union sends out help to affected individuals and families of the Taal Volcano eruption.
This is being led by the provincial government of La Union wherein a P300,000 worth of financial assistance will be extended to the victims through approved Sangguniang Panlalawigan Resolution 071-2020.
The city government of San Fernando also mobilizes its own relief drive by setting up a drop-off point on Jan. 22 at the People's Park, this city, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. to accept all donations.
Primarily, accepted items are food items, medicines, hygiene kits, and sleeping kits.
Other stuffs for donation also include N95 mask or regular sanitary masks, safety goggles, mosquito net, pillows and blankets, mats, slippers, and new clothes and undergarments.
Many have expressed enthusiasm in helping out to the victims especially in donating used clothes. However, the city government said it will be strict not to accept used clothes to prevent health hazards which may be transmitted through used clothing.
Further, individuals can personally give cash donations on the said date.
Meanwhile, the local governments of Balaoan and Agoo also arranged their own donation drive for the Taal evacuees. (JCR/JND/PIA La Union)
