DAVAO CITY, May 26 (PIA) - As of May 25, 2020 (8 p.m.), the Department of Social Welfare and Development XI (DSWD XI) reported 99.06% accomplishment on the distribution of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) for both the Pantawid and Non-Pantawid beneficiaries.
There are 942,214 beneficiaries served from its target of 951,193 beneficiaries. About 8,979 beneficiaries have yet to receive the government subsidy.
The DSWD XI reported an actual paid-out amount of P4,068,126,000.00 or 98.90% of the total downloaded/cash advance amount of P4,113,282,000.00.
In its May 26 advisory, there are only two more local government units that have yet to complete the distribution of subsidy for Non-Pantawid beneficiaries.
The LGU of Santo Tomas in Davao del Norte is yet to serve 2,172 families or accomplished 85.66% while Davao City is yet to serve 5,354 families or accomplished 98.20% of its target.
The DSWD also reported some cities and municipalities which returned a portion of the SAP. In Davao City, 1,289 families returned their subsidy amounting to P7,734,000.00. Some LGUs in Davao del Sur province returned their SAP totaling to P3,114,000.00; Davao Occidental returned P318,000.00; Davao del Norte returned P510,000.00; Davao de Oro with P522,000.00; while Davao Oriental returned P840,000.00.
A total of P13,038,000.00 was returned in Davao Region. Said amount is intended to serve 2,173 families.
The DSWD XI bared some reasons for the return of the SAP which includes families received comparable assistance from other government agencies; some families are not eligible; while some personally waived SAP.
The families who returned their SAP subsidy will be immediately replaced so that eligible families in the same area are able to receive the subsidy. (PIA XI/Frances Mae Macapagat)
