ULAN BATOR, July 14 (Xinhua) -- Mongolia reported 13 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, taking its total tally to 243, the country's National Center for Communicable Diseases (NCCD) said Tuesday.
"A total of 168 tests for COVID-19 were conducted across the country yesterday and 13 of them were positive," the NCCD's head Dulmaa Nyamkhuu told a daily press conference.
Ten of the newly confirmed cases are servicemen of the Mongolian Armed Forces who returned home from Afghanistan on a chartered flight on Sunday, Nyamkhuu said.
The remaining three are Mongolian nationals who returned home recently from abroad and had been isolated at designated facilities, he said.
Meanwhile, one more patient recovered in the past 24 hours, raising the total to 204, he added.
All confirmed cases in Mongolia were imported, the NCCD said, and no local transmissions or deaths have been reported in the country so far.
