BEIJING, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- The following is a summary of published science and technology news of China.


China on Monday sent a new ocean-monitoring satellite into orbit from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China.

A Long March-4B rocket carrying the Haiyang-2C (HY-2C) satellite took off at 1:40 p.m. (Beijing Time), according to the launch center.

The HY-2C, the country's third ocean dynamic environment satellite, can provide all-weather and round-the-clock observation of wave height, sea surface height, wind and temperature.


Chinese researchers have developed a neural signal analysis system with memristor arrays, paving the way for high-efficiency brain-machine interfaces, according to Tsinghua University.

Researchers from Tsinghua University have developed a memristor-based neural signal analysis system and used the system to implement the filtering and identification of epilepsy-related neural signals, achieving an accuracy of over 93 percent.


Science and technology workers have successfully grown high-protein mulberry trees in the Ulan Buh Desert in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

A total of 66.67 hectares of mulberry trees have been planted so far in the mulberry planting base in Dengkou County in the city of Bayannur.

The high-protein mulberry tree has strong roots that can resist desert sandstorms. It can grow fast in saline soil in hot and dry environments.
