KABUL -- Ten Taliban militants were killed and six others wounded after Afghan military stormed their position in eastern Wardak province, 35 km west of the country's capital Kabul, on Thursday night, the Ministry of Defense confirmed on Friday.
"The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces targeted a Taliban militants' aggregation in Nirkh district, Wardak province, last night, killing 10 Taliban terrorists and wounding six others," the ministry said in a statement. (Afghanistan-Taliban-Offensive)

SRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir -- A policeman was killed after unidentified gunmen fired upon him in restive Indian-controlled Kashmir, police said Friday.

MOGADISHU -- The Somali National Army, backed by regional forces, on Thursday killed 30 Shabab militants and injured 24 others in an operation in the country's southern Middle Shabelle region, an official confirmed on Friday.
SNA spokesman Ali Hashi said the operation was conducted in the Jalable area where the militants were planning attacks against government forces. (Somalia-Militants)
