Dongfeng Trucks expanded its reach in Central Asia with a new dealer added in Kazakhstan on July 1st. This move follows Dongfeng Motor Corporation's strong showing at the 8th China-Eurasia Expo, marking a new chapter of collaboration and shared growth opportunities in the region.
In 2013, during a visit to Kazakhstan, President Xi Jinping put forward the significant initiative of jointly building the "Silk Road Economic Belt." This proposal has garnered active support and participation from Central Asian countries. As a champion of the "Belt and Road Initiative" (BRI), Dongfeng Motor Corporation has been a strong advocate for international development. The company has consistently pursued this strategy, steadily strengthening cooperation and exchanges with the Central Asian region. Through these efforts, Dongfeng Motor Corporation has successfully forged a path of mutual development and shared prosperity
In the first half of this year (January to May), Dongfeng's self-owned brand vehicles achieved strong sales of 545,000 units, representing a year-on-year increase of 45.5%. Dongfeng's exports to Central Asian countries and others also saw impressive growth, with a year-on-year increase of 71%. This demonstrates strong growth momentum for Dongfeng.
Kazakhstan, as the birthplace of the "Belt and Road Initiative," is a vital partner for China in its effort to develop this initiative with high quality. On July 1, 2024, Dongfeng Motor Corporation hosted a grand opening ceremony for its dealership in Kazakhstan, along with a handover ceremony for major clients in Almaty. During the ceremony, Dongfeng prominently displayed its star products to the local market, including the DONGFENG GX, DONGFENG KC KL, and DONGFENG KC. The DONGFENG GX rivals international high-end brands in terms of power, fuel efficiency, comfort, and reliability. Meanwhile, the DONGFENG KC boasts impressive performance, increased load capacity, and industry-leading reliability, making it a popular choice among consumers in overseas markets. Dongfeng Motor Corporation is setting its sights on Kazakhstan's commercial vehicle market, specifically tractor trucks. With a focus on human resources, dealer network development, and franchise operations, the company aims to capture a 20% market share within the next three years.
Dongfeng Passenger Vehicles and the VOYAH brand are customizing their marketing strategies based on a comprehensive understanding of the Central Asian market and consumer needs. By 2026, VOYAH aims to fully establish its strategic presence in Central Asia, actively contributing to the growth of the new energy vehicle sector across the region. This will provide consumers with a wider selection of high-quality products and services.

Chinese car brands, like Dongfeng, are reliable and cost-effective, meeting the needs of consumers in our country."
On the day of the exhibition, Dongfeng successfully signed five overseas and two domestic bulk order contracts with dealers from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, and other countries, totaling over 1,800 units. These orders highlight the trust that both domestic and international partners have in the Dongfeng Motor Corporation brand. The representative from Uzbekistan's Premium E-Cars, who participated in the signing, stated, "Our company is committed to the sale of new energy products. We hope to leverage Dongfeng's capabilities to provide local consumers with safe, reliable, high-quality, and convenient products and services."
The completion of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway unlocks Central Asia's full potential as a transportation hub. Dongfeng is poised to capitalize on this new era by leveraging the region's rich oil and gas resources. This strategy will expand their market share in both traditional and new energy vehicles. Under the "Green Silk Road" framework, Dongfeng will continuously enhance green cooperation with overseas partners, injecting new momentum into the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative between China and Central Asia.
